Laura Wooten Hall building dedication
The University will host a dedication Oct. 26 for Laura Wooten Hall, which was named in Wooten’s honor effective July 1 to recognize her outstanding service to the nation and to humanity, and to emphasize the importance of civic engagement at all levels. Wooten volunteered at local, primary and general election polls in New Jersey for 79 years and was recognized as the longest-serving election poll worker in the United States.
Event speakers will include President Christopher L. Eisgruber; Princeton Mayor Mark Freda; Wooten's daughter Yvonne Hill; Professor Melissa Lane, Class of 1943 Professor of Politics and director of the University Center for Human Values; Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson; State Senator Shirley Turner and Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman.
