William 'Bill' Bradley '65 Portrait Unveiling Ceremony
The Office of the President is hosting an unveiling ceremony for the University’s new portrait of former U.S. Senator Bill Bradley ’65.
On Sept. 9, a reception will be held at 4:30 p.m. in Dodds Atrium, Robertson Hall, followed by speakers' remarks and the portrait unveiling from approximately 5:15-6 p.m in Lewis Auditorium. Bradley is a former U.S. Senator from New Jersey and former star player for the New York Knicks. He is Princeton’s all-time leading scorer in basketball and he won an Olympic gold medal in 1964. As a senator, he championed numerous causes relating to tax reform, the environment, energy, foreign policy and health care. He is a former member of the University’s Board of Trustees and was the 1987 winner of the Woodrow Wilson Award.
Bradley has had an enduring impact on multiple fields, excelled in the nation’s service and the service of humanity, and made significant contributions to the life of the University. This portrait was commissioned as part of a broader effort to expand the University’s portrait collection to reflect the diversity of our community and more fully illuminate the University’s history.
