MLK Day Gallery Show and Reception - Expression, Character, and Life: Portraits of Civil Rights Heroes
Join the Office of Campus Engagement and the Arts Council of Princeton for a gallery opening and reception that focuses on the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Local artist Aaron Fischer will display his dynamic portraits of King as well as share brief remarks on his process.
The gallery opening will be held at the Arts Council's Paul Robeson Center for the Arts building (102 Witherspoon St.), and there will be a reception with beverages, wine (for those 21+) and food. Guests are invited to view Fischer's artwork in the Art Council's gallery space, as well as digital images of some of Fischer's other works throughout the reception space.
Aaron Fischer Biography
Princeton, New Jersey, is where it all began for Aaron Fischer. His mother says from the time he could hold a crayon, he was drawing. Artistic expression comes naturally to Aaron, influenced early by his sister Pat, also an artist, who encouraged Aaron to experiment and hone his gift. Aaron attended Middlesex County College, majoring in Marketing, Art and Design and is currently the Visual Arts mentor for the New Brunswick area branch of ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics), a yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate and encourage high academic and cultural achievement amongst African-American high school students.
