Organ Concert: Various Venerable Variations

Eric Plutz, University Organist at Princeton University, will explore the musical form of Theme and Variations, from early music to modern, simple to complex, and from a wide variety of composers.
The anticipated program:

Partita on “Detroit” by David Hurd
Variations on “Humility” by June Nixon
Passacaglia, BWV 582 Johann Sebastian Bach
Variations on a Theme by Paganini by George Thalben-Ball
Variations on “Laßt uns erfreuen” by Denis Bédard
Concert Variations on “The Star Spangled Banner”, Op. 4 by John Knowles Paine
