Unduvap Poya (Sri Lankan Holiday Season Celebration)
Unduvap Poya day is a sacred day that commemorates the arrival of Sangamitta Theri, the daughter of Ashoka, in Sri Lanka with a Bo sapling from the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. This year, Unduvap Poya falls on Thursday, December 4th, 2025. We expect to have a group of 50 students(previous events we've hosted have had similar numbers) with food catered from Sigiri in Edison(the only authentic Sri Lankan restaurant in New Jersey). The event is open to any and all who observes the poya day, who is interested in learning more about poya days or or anyone who simply wants to enjoy a good time, engage in discussions, and hang out with the Sri Lankan community at Princeton!
