Expressive Potential of Everyday Materials: Shoelaces
Learn how to make a shoelace sculpture inspired by artist Nari Ward’s Scape.
Create a three-dimensional work of art out of shoelaces, guided by artist Veronica Olivares-Weber. Inspired by Nari Ward’s Scape (2012)—on view in Princeton Collects through March 29—this workshop invites participants to explore the expressive potential of everyday materials. Participants will build wire armatures and weave, wrap, and knot shoelaces and other materials to create fiber sculptures that convey personal and collective stories. The workshop kicks off with a gallery visit to view and discuss Ward’s work.
$50 | Registration required | Open to the public (ages 14+)
