Roots in Representation: Black Political Power in New Jersey
This event will allow students to engage with the challenges of navigating the legislature in committees or in sessions where few people look like them, and amplify the voices of the Black community. The panel will discuss how the focus of Black Political Leaders has shifted over time to amplify the stories of Black communities in silent rooms and to plan for future generations of Black students and politicians. Students will have the opportunity to ask legislators about their past or current work and how they can amplify policies to advance communities of color.
