By the numbers: University raises funds for United Way

United Way officials and Princeton University representatives gathered May 1 in Chancellor Green to acknowledge the $169,767.65 raised for the United Way in this year's campaign.

The campaign raised $149,261.86 in contributions from faculty, staff and retirees — $109,968.42 from the main campus, $27,351.00 from the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory and $6,978.00 from retirees.

The University matched gifts with 15 cents on the dollar for every payroll deduction contribution and 10 cents on the dollar for all other gifts, for a total University contribution of $20,505.79.

All donations will be distributed to United Way programs in Mercer County or employees' home communities, or to other health and human services agencies that were designated by individual donors.
