Law enforcement agencies from around Mercer County will hold training sessions and exercises on the Princeton University campus Thursday, Aug. 9.

The Princeton Department of Public Safety will host the event, part of a series of monthly trainings organized by the Mercer County Rapid Response Partnership (MCRRP).

Representatives from about 15 agencies, including University DPS officers, will take part in classroom sessions in the afternoon and in an incident response drill that will be held at Princeton Stadium in the evening.

“Princeton’s Department of Public Safety is pleased to host our law enforcement colleagues from Mercer County,” said Paul Ominsky, executive director of Public Safety. “This drill is intended among other things, to test our mutual aid within the county. Mutual aid agreements that we have in place combined with realistic trainings like this help to keep all of our communities safe.”

Signs will be posted around the stadium alerting people to the drill and limiting access to the stadium beginning the day before the event. Numerous law enforcement vehicles will be parked near the stadium the day of the drill.
