So You Want to Run for Public Office? Part 1: Alumni Experiences Panel

Have you ever looked at a national or local politician, campaign manager or political strategist and thought, how did they get there? Could I do that? Public office involvement is a way to have a significant impact on your local, regional or national community…and yes, you could do that!

What to expect: The panel will feature Princeton alumni who are serving, were recently elected, or previously served as members of congress, state senators, city council members, leaders of influential coalitions, campaign managers, and/or political strategists: Terri Sewell ‘86 (Alabama Congresswoman), Deni Taveras, MPA-URP *03 (Prince George’s County Council Member), Christina Henderson, MPA *12 (D.C. At-large Councilmember), and Zach Wahls, MPA *18 (Iowa State Senator). The conversation will be moderated by Professor Mickey Edwards.

The panelists will discuss their path to their current role and share advice for those thinking about public office, in either the short- and the long-term. Join us!
