Discussion of “Beyond Banks: Technology, Regulation, and the Future of Money” with author Dan Awrey. Awrey traces the origins of our current bundled system of banking, money, and payments and explores issues with the current structures. He presents ideas for a more forward-looking role for policymakers in encouraging greater technological experimentation, competition, and innovation in the realm of payments. The discussion will be moderated by Carolyn Wilkins.
