Building Better Food Systems: Where Can the Next Generation Have the Most Impact?
How do we build a food system that is more sustainable, resilient, and effective—and where can the next generation have the greatest impact?
On Friday, September 18 at 10:00 am, join food systems leader Ida Posner '12 for an interactive fireside conversation moderated by Maen Mahfoud, Founder and CEO of Replate and Sugarman Practitioner in Residence at Princeton’s Kahneman-Treisman Center for Behavioral Science & Public Policy.
Drawing on Ida’s experience across infrastructure, investing, philanthropy, and food systems, the conversation will explore how systems change happens in practice and the roles that entrepreneurship, capital, policy, research, and institutions can play in accelerating it.
Ida will reflect on her path from Princeton to her work today, including what she has learned about identifying high-leverage problems, turning promising ideas into scalable solutions, and deploying capital for impact.
The session will also look forward: Where are the biggest opportunities in food systems today? What kinds of solutions are still missing? And how can students from different disciplines contribute?
The conversation will include ample time for student questions and discussion and will open a day of programming around the invitation-only Princeton Convening on Institutional Food Systems.
The session with Ida is open to all Princeton undergraduates, graduate students, fellows, faculty, and staff.
