A Conversation with Traveling in Bardo Author Ann Tashi Slater '84

Join us for an evening in conversation with Ann Slater '84, author of Traveling in Bardo: The Art of Living in an Impermanent World, for a conversation on identity, spirituality, and storytelling. Drawing inspiration from the Tibetan Book of the Dead and the Buddhist concept of the bardo, a transitional state between lives, Slater reflects on how these ideas resonate with contemporary life and personal transformation.

During this conversation, Slater will discuss her experiences growing up Asian American, her Tibetan American heritage, and her time at Princeton, as well as her journey into writing and academia.

The event will feature a short reading from Traveling in Bardo followed by a moderated conversation and audience Q&A exploring themes of spirituality, cultural identity, and how ancient Buddhist philosophy can illuminate modern life.
