Ébène String Quartet (Princeton University Concerts)
Each time the Ébène Quartet takes the stage at Princeton University Concerts, they leave the audience spellbound, always craving more. Their highly anticipated return—by overwhelming demand—brings a program that showcases the full range of their exceptional artistry. From one of Mozart’s rare string quartets in a minor key, which reveals an emotional depth that would go on to influence generations of composers, to Ravel’s only String Quartet, a groundbreaking work that broke free from traditional forms, and finally Brahms’ String Quartet Op. 51 No. 2, a masterpiece shaped over nearly eight years of meticulous devotion. This program, where passion, innovation, and craftsmanship converge at the highest level, is a powerful testament to the Ébène Quartet’s unparalleled mastery.
Last season, the Ébène Quartet joined forces with the Belcea Quartet for a spectacular program of string octets. This season, we are thrilled to present each of these extraordinary ensembles in their own spotlight as the Belcea Quartet also returns on Thursday, October 23, 2025! Learn more>
