HMEI Faculty Seminar "Where the Wild Things Are: Mammalian Immune Responses Under Environmental Variation" by Andrea Graham
Andrea Graham, professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, will present “Where the Wild Things Are: Mammalian Immune Responses Under Environmental Variation.” Join us in the Briger Hall Auditorium, 11 Ivy Lane, or stream it live. Graham is the second speaker in the Spring 2026 HMEI Faculty Seminar Series.
Mammals exhibit remarkably heterogeneous immune responses. Although some of that heterogeneity is genetically encoded, a very large fraction is due to the varied environmental experiences of individual animals. I will outline my research group’s recent progress in understanding the interactive contributions of genes and environment to immune responses in rewilded laboratory mice as well as truly wild northern elephant seals.
This seminar is free and open to the public. Lunch will be available in the Briger Atrium at 11:45 a.m. Click here to stream it live, no registration needed.
