Mary at the Foot of the Cross: From Fiat to Fulfillment
The week before Holy Week, join the Aquinas Institute for a reflection from Fr. Donald Haggerty, a priest of the Archdiocese of New York who serves at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The topic of his reflection will be the profound sacrificial offering, completed at Calvary, of the Virgin Mother – whose Solemnity of the Annunciation is celebrated March 25. In preparation for the coming Holy Week, Fr. Haggerty will invite us to ponder more deeply the mystery of Mary’s interior experience at the Cross and its significance for our spirituality.
Fr. Haggerty taught moral theology and worked as a spiritual director in seminaries for twenty years, and has directed many retreats worldwide for the Missionaries of Charity. He is the author of numerous books on spirituality, including The Contemplative Hunger, Conversion, Contemplative Enigmas, and Saint John of the Cross: Master of Contemplation.
