Princeton University Orchestra begins its season with a program spanning three distinct musical voices. The concert opens with Ginastera's Pampeana No. 3, a vivid orchestral evocation of the Argentine pampas. Cellist Max Salzinger '29, winner of this year's concerto competition, joins the orchestra as soloist for Korngold's lush, cinematic Cello Concerto. The program closes with Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 in G major, a work celebrated for its warmth, lyricism, and folk-inflected melodies.

Conducted by Michael Pratt, Professor of the Practice, Director of Program in Music Performance, and Director of Princeton University Orchestra.

About Princeton University Orchestra

The Princeton University Orchestra (PUO) is the flagship symphony orchestra of Princeton University and is one of the most prestigious highly-acclaimed collegiate orchestras in the country. At over one hundred undergraduate-musicians strong, the orchestra gives eight annual performances in Alexander Hall and its members have performed widely elsewhere on and off campus, domestically and internationally.

The orchestra performs a diverse range of repertoire that spans from the Classical period up through freshly-composed works from within the Princeton University community. Since 1977, Maestro Michael Pratt has served as its Music Director.
