Introduction to Lidar data
Light Detection and Ranging (Lidar) data is a different kind of remote sensing data that will allow the user to visualize, analyze and extract a digital elevation model (DEM), slope and aspect, height of trees, 3D building views, etc. In the United States, the US Geological Survey is collecting high-resolution Lidar data and making them accessible to the public. In this class, students will learn how to download Lidar data and then visualize and analyze it, and extract and create DEMs and 3D building data.
University programs and activities are open to all eligible participants without regard to identity or other protected characteristics. Sponsorship of an event does not constitute institutional endorsement of external speakers or views presented.
