Friends of PUL Small Talk: Tsundoku: What isn't in "The Art of Japanese Publishing" Exhibition
Join us on Thursday, November 12 for a Friends Small Talk and showcase featuring Nicole Fabricand-Person '76, *01.
You may have heard of the Japanese term, “tsundoku” that has become fashionable in English to describe the phenomenon of purchasing books and letting them pile up without being read. Taking liberty with the term, this Small Talk will introduce some of the wonderful books in the Marquand Library Collection that either had to be cut from the exhibition or were purchased too late to be included—they were therefore purchased, but “unread” by our visitors.
Program timeline:
5:00pm-5:30pm - Lecture (available by Zoom)
5:45pm-6:15pm - Object showcase
6:15pm-6:45pm - Reception
Please note that only the lecture (30 minutes) will be available by Zoom.
There is limited seating and in-person attendance is limited to current Friends of PUL members. Membership status will be checked by PUL staff.
Registration is required. Please select the appropriate registration type below.
