The University marks the beginning of each academic year with Opening Exercises. The annual interfaith service includes an address by President Christopher L. Eisgruber, and the recognition of academic achievements of undergraduate students. Opening Exercises for the Class of 2030 will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 30.
First-year students will line up on Cannon Green with classmates in their residential college and march through the FitzRandolph Gate, onto Front Campus, officially entering campus to start their undergraduate experience. They will be joined by Trustees, faculty, and administrators who process in academic regalia. Following the ceremony, first-year students will exit Front Campus and head toward the historic Cannon Green in a "Pre-rade" at which they will be greeted on the path by fellow Princetonians.
On the day of the event, the ceremony will be broadcast live through the Media Central Live website.
