Screening of film on contemporary Cantonese art set

Scholar Jane Debevoise will introduce a screening of the film "Jean-Paul Sartre to Teresa Tang: Contemporary Cantonese Art of the 1980s" at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at McCormick Hall, Room 101.

University will host Handel festival .

International scholars and performers dedicated to honoring the life and works of Baroque composer George Frideric Handel will gather at the University for the American Handel Society conference on Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 21-23. This is the second time the American Handel Society has held its biennial festival at Princeton; the first was in 2007.

Fall lecture series focuses on gospel music .

The University will host four speakers in a fall lecture series titled "Made in America: The History of Black Gospel Music" from Sept. 25 through Dec. 3 in 101 McCormick Hall.

In focus: Art Museum enlivens summertime activities .

The Princeton University Art Museum is offering a range of exhibitions this summer, all of which are open to the public. First among these is a landmark exhibition exploring the advent of color photography as a fine art form in the 1970s. "Starburst" is described as a surprising look at a misunderstood era, and is on view until Sept. 26.

Roundtable to address rise of Reggaetón .

Artists, critics and scholars will discuss Reggaetón, one of the top-selling genres in U.S. Latino/a and Latin American music, in a panel discussion set for 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in 101 McCormick Hall.
