Campus data network outage scheduled June 16

June 15, 2015 4:25 p.m.

The University's data network will be unavailable between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 16.

All services that depend on an Internet connection or access to the network will be unavailable. This includes access to websites and servers on campus, access from campus to the Internet, as well as access to campus websites and servers from off campus.

The service interruption is necessary to complete work that will improve network reliability.

The University's telephone system will be operational throughout the outage, except for telephone service in the following buildings: 4 Mercer St., 194 Nassau St., Jadwin Hall, Maclean House, New South and Peretsman Scully Hall.

Fire protection systems will function normally and report to Public Safety as usual. The emergency broadcast towers at Forbes and at the new Transit Station parking lot, and the emergency phone near the Wawa will be unavailable during that hour. Should you require assistance from Public Safety, call 609-258-1000 for routine matters and 609-258-3333 for emergencies.

The OIT Help Desk will be open throughout this period to answer questions and will be reachable by telephone at 609-258-4357 (8-HELP). Help Desk updates can also be found on Twitter, following @PUOITSOC.
