Faculty members submit resignations

The easternmost arch of East Pyne courtyard is named in honor of James Collins Johnson, who escaped enslavement in Maryland and who worked on campus for more than 60 years. 

Five members of the faculty have submitted their resignations from the University, effective July 1, 2020, unless otherwise noted.

• Nicolas Boumal, assistant professor of mathematics, to accept a position at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne;

• Marc Fleurbaey, the Robert E. Kuenne Professor in Economics and Humanistic Studies and professor of public affairs and the University Center for Human Values, to accept a position at the Paris School of Economics and the École Normale Superieure;

• Oleg Itskhoki, professor of economics and international affairs, to accept a position at the University of California-Los Angeles;

• Dean Knox, assistant professor of politics, to accept a position at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania;

• Adam Marcus, assistant professor of mathematics, to accept a position at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, effective Feb. 1, 2020.
