Lecture series examines the Caucasus

A lecture series on "The Caucasus: Zones of Contestation" will be held at 4:30 p.m. on four Tuesdays from Sept. 22 through Dec. 1 in 219 Burr Hall.

A conference exploring the peculiar relationship between repression and laughter in socialist states is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, May 15-17, in 219 Burr Hall.

Fall lecture series focuses on gospel music .

The University will host four speakers in a fall lecture series titled "Made in America: The History of Black Gospel Music" from Sept. 25 through Dec. 3 in 101 McCormick Hall.

Lecture, concert planned on Son Jarocho .

A lecture on a re-emerging genre of music from Mexico and a concert by one of the most renowned groups performing this music today are set for Thursday and Friday, Nov. 13-14. Both events are part of Latino Heritage Month on campus.

University will host Handel festival .

International scholars and performers dedicated to honoring the life and works of Baroque composer George Frideric Handel will gather at the University for the American Handel Society conference on Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 21-23. This is the second time the American Handel Society has held its biennial festival at Princeton; the first was in 2007.
