Princeton community welcomes new members to campus

Members of the Princeton University community welcomed new faculty and students this September as they arrived on campus, attended orientation activities, and participated in their first ceremonies and traditions.

The start of college is an exciting time full of new experiences and opportunities for freshmen. Before classes began Sept. 11, the members of the Class of 2017 were welcomed to the Princeton University community in a number of ways. This video shows some of the events and activities offered to freshmen.

Adventure and service greet new students and faculty .

Princeton organizes numerous orientation events that help freshmen become familiar with one another, the University and the community they'll live in for the next four years. From Sept. 2 until the first day of classes on Sept. 16, incoming students move in to campus, rough it with Outdoor Action, work on social issues in off-campus locations with Community Action, meet with faculty including President Christopher L. Eisgruber, and enjoy parties, cookouts and games on campus.

Princeton University welcomes the Class of 2020 .

The University is welcoming the Class of 2020 to campus this week to officially begin the first chapter of its Princeton story. First-year students arrive Saturday, Sept. 3, to move in to their residential colleges and begin Orientation. In this welcome video, students in the Class of 2020 can envision what the next four years may look like as they tour parts of campus with the Princeton Tiger.

More than a week of welcoming activities is underway as the Class of 2020 begins its Princeton years with small-group experiences in community service projects, outdoor adventures and campus workshops.

Princeton University students will officially be back to school Wednesday, Sept. 10, with the first day of classes, following more than a week of orientation and welcome events for undergraduate and graduate students.

Eisgruber invites new students to embrace the 'honor world' at Princeton .

As Princeton University President Christopher L. Eisgruber welcomed the incoming Class of 2017 at Opening Exercises on Sept. 8, he told students they shared an important connection. "I will always feel a special bond with those of you who arrive here as the Class of 2017 because this year we will embark on exciting new Princeton journeys together," he said.
