Community and campus connect for Princeton's Porchfest 2023

Porches in Princeton became stages Saturday afternoon as neighbors hosted live, free entertainment for Porchfest 2023, presented by the Arts Council of Princeton with support from Princeton University. "The weather was wet but the spirits were warm," said Kristin Appelget, assistant vice president for community and regional affairs.

The Princeton University Band kicked off the festivities at 12:30 p.m. followed by three student bands and two a cappella groups. Performances took place throughout the day on 18 porch stages at homes, on Palmer Square, at the entrance to the University's historic Maclean House on Nassau Street, and at the Arts Council on Witherspoon Street. Audiences walked with umbrellas from porch to porch, patronizing local businesses along the way.
