Prager in January assumed leadership of PPPL, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and has been managed by the University since its inception in 1951. The lab's primary mission is to conduct research that will lead to fusion as a safe, economical and environmentally attractive energy source for the long term.
Prager, an internationally recognized leader in the field of fusion energy research, came to Princeton after serving as director of the Madison Symmetric Torus experiment at the University of Wisconsin. He also is a professor of astrophysical sciences at Princeton.
The talk is sponsored by the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
