Kane to speak on jazz

The Department of Music's musicology colloquium series continues with Brian Kane of Yale University who will give a talk "Hearing Double: Jazz and Ontology" at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, in Woolworth Center, Room 102.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg provided a rare inside look at the human side of the venerable institution in an appearance Thursday at Princeton University, giving the audience a peek at the personal interactions of the justices and how they maintain friendships despite disagreeing on issues.

'Migrations' is theme of University, community programming collaboration .

Princeton University and over 30 Princeton-area nonprofit organizations will investigate the theme of "Migrations" from February through May.

Vehicle entrance to close at 4 p.m. weekdays .

Beginning Monday, June 7, the gate at Princeton University's Nassau Street entrance to campus will be closed to vehicle traffic two hours earlier during the week, remaining open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sneak preview: New Lewis Center for the Arts to open in one year .

"Behind the scenes" is a common phrase pulled from the performance world. At Princeton University, one "performance" in particular that has been behind the scenes for nearly a decade will make its debut in one year. On the weekend of Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 5-7, 2017, the new Lewis Center for the Arts — a dynamic multi-facility complex that will greatly expand the performance, rehearsal and teaching spaces for the arts — will open its doors and spaces to the University and greater Princeton community.

Members of the class of 2011 gathered on Princeton's Cannon Green to celebrate the accomplishments of their peers and share reflections on their Princeton experiences at the Class Day ceremony Monday, May 30.

Chamber ensemble joins students with professional musicians .

Bringing Princeton students and leading professional musicians together on stage, the University's Richardson Chamber Players will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 28, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.
