A renovation project underway at Dillon Gymnasium is designed to improve the experience of students, faculty and staff who use the facility.
To facilitate the upgrades, the Dillon pool will close Monday, April 18. The pool will be closed for eight weeks, with reopening anticipated in mid-June. Additional recreational swim hours will be available in DeNunzio Pool during this closure.
The Dillon locker room will curtail locker assignments on Friday, April 15. All personal items must be removed from lockers in preparation for locker clean-out on Saturday, April 16. Locker rooms will be available for day use from April 16 to May 1 before closing May 2 until the anticipated reopening in mid-September. Temporary changing areas with lockers and showers will be made available within Dillon during this time.
Locker rooms will receive new showers, lockers and finishes, as well as the addition of gender-inclusive changing and shower areas. Team rooms are also being added for men's and women's volleyball teams and sport clubs.
In addition to those changes on the A level of Dillon, fire-safety improvements are underway throughout the facility. Dillon Gymnasium, which was built in 1947, is used by Campus Recreation and Athletics.
