Women's basketball team to open NCAA tournament against Wisconsin-Green Bay

After wrapping up the first 30-0 regular season in Ivy League history, the Princeton University women's basketball team will face the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament.

Seeded No. 8 in the bracket, the Tigers and No. 9 seed Green Bay (28-4) will play at the University of Maryland XFINITY Center at 11:05 a.m. Saturday, March 21. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.

The Tigers are ranked No. 13 in the Associated Press and USA Today polls, the highest ever for an Ivy League team.

Players and coaches learned of their selection Monday evening at the University's Class of 1887 Boathouse while watching a televised broadcast of the pairings announcement. Earlier in the evening, the players celebrated their Ivy League championship by cutting down one of the nets on their home court, Carril Court in Jadwin Gymnasium.
