Princeton defeats Green Bay, advances in NCAA women's basketball tournament

The Princeton women's basketball team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay 80-70 Saturday in the opening round of the NCAA basketball tournament.

The game was held at the University of Maryland XFINITY Center. The Tigers advanced to play there again at 6:30 p.m. Monday against the host Terrapins, who defeated New Mexico State 75-57.

The Tigers' victory over Green Bay was the first in NCAA post-season play for a Princeton women's team and raised their season record to 31-0.

President Barack Obama attended the game. Leslie Robinson, daughter of First Lady Michelle Obama's brother, Craig Robinson, is a member of the Princeton team.

After the game, Princeton players celebrated briefly on the court and went into the stands to hug family members and friends, part of a large delegation of orange-clad Princeton supporters.
