Candlelight vigil will be held in response to 'attacks on humanity'

A campus candlelight vigil will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, on the plaza in front of the Princeton University Art Museum. The event "Tossed by the Waves, But Does Not Sink: Vigil in Response to Attacks on Humanity" follows attacks this year in France, Lebanon, Iraq, Kenya and beyond. The vigil is organized by the Religious Life Council and the Princeton French Society, and co-sponsored by numerous University departments, offices and student organizations.

Princeton to present sculpture installation by Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei .

An installation of 12 monumental sculptures by the renowned Chinese artist and social activist Ai Weiwei will be on view at Princeton University for one year beginning Wednesday, Aug. 1. The artist's "Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads" will be located at Scudder Plaza in front of Robertson Hall, home of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.

The arts can give powerful expression to memory, as well as shape our collective memory of the past. This fall, to mark the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the theme of memory, loss and the impact of art is inspiring a wide range of cultural activities across the Princeton campus and the local community.

A campus vigil will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, March 15, in Murray-Dodge Hall, for all who want to gather together in the wake of the mosque shootings in New Zealand.
