The American environmental movement needs to change and appeal to a broader audience if it is to make inroads into the set of problems facing the nation, according to Lisa Jackson, the administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson will speak on "Environmental Justice in the 21st Century, A Bipartisan Approach" in a lecture at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, in Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall, on the Princeton University campus. Jackson, a 1986 alumna of Princeton's Graduate School, will explore the impact of the economic downturn on environmental priorities, the future of sustainability for urban youth and environmental justice.

Mueller, Jackson to receive top alumni awards .

Princeton University will present its top honors for alumni to Robert S. Mueller III, director of the FBI, and Lisa Jackson, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. Mueller, a member of the Class of 1966, will receive the Woodrow Wilson Award. Jackson, who earned a master's degree in chemical engineering in 1986, will receive the James Madison Medal. They will be presented with the awards and deliver addresses on campus during Alumni Day activities on Saturday, Feb. 25.

Princeton University began three days of celebrating the Class of 2015 on Sunday, May 31, with its 268th Baccalaureate, a vibrant interfaith service in the University Chapel that offered seniors a chance to look back and to think ahead to life beyond FitzRandolph Gate.
